About the Fellowship Program

The Metro Centre for Respiratory Diseases (MCRD), Noida, under PACS (Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine), offers a one-year Fellowship Program designed to provide comprehensive and hands-on training in Interventional Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine.

Program Objective

To develop expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures while ensuring excellence in the management of complex respiratory conditions.

Hands-on Training in Interventional Pulmonology

Bronchoscopy & Biopsy Techniques

  • Simple Bronchoscopy
  • Endobronchial Biopsy
  • Convex EBUS
  • Radial EBUS-guided biopsy
  • Foreign body removal
  • Bronchoscopy in ICU settings

Rigid Bronchoscopy & Airway Management

  • Rigid bronchoscopy
  • Tumor debulking
  • Stent placement
  • Transbronchial Cryo Lung Biopsy
  • Snares & Balloon dilation
  • APC & Knife for airway stenosis

Thoracic Procedures

  • Thoracoscopy
  • Indwelling pleural catheter placement
  • Intercostal drainage tube insertion
  • Pigtail catheter insertion

Critical Care Training

  • Managing complex ICU & ward cases
  • Advanced ventilatory support
  • International critical care guidelines
  • All ICU-related procedures

Specialized Clinics & Multidisciplinary Approach

  • Sarcoid Clinic (WASOG affiliated)
  • Asthma Clinic

  • Allergy testing & Immunotherapy training

Fellows actively participate in MDT discussions with pulmonologists, radiologists, pathologists, and rheumatologists.

General Instructions

  1. Incomplete or late applications will be rejected
  2. Joining subject to medical fitness
  3. Decision of MCRD management is final
  4. No TA/DA admissible
  5. Minimum one indexed publication mandatory
  6. 12 leaves per academic year (excluding Sundays & national holidays)
  7. Fellowship awarded after exit examination
