Fellowship Program in Interventional Pulmonology & Critical Care at MCRD, Noida

The Metro Centre for Respiratory Diseases (MCRD), Noida, under PACS (Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine), offers a one-year Fellowship Program designed to provide comprehensive and hands-on training in Interventional Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine. This specialized program aims to develop expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures while ensuring excellence in the management of complex respiratory conditions.

Selection Process:

Admission to this prestigious program is based on a competitive interview process, ensuring that only the most dedicated and skilled candidates are selected.

Stipend : Rs 1.25Lakh Per Month

Program Highlights:

  1. Hands-on Training in Interventional Pulmonology

Fellows will receive extensive practical exposure to advanced pulmonary procedures, including:

Bronchoscopy & Biopsy Techniques:

  • Simple Bronchoscopy
  • Endobronchial Biopsy
  • Convex EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound)
  • Radial EBUS-guided biopsy for peripheral lesions/nodules
  • Foreign body removal
  • Bronchoscopy in ICU settings

Rigid Bronchoscopy & Airway Management:

  • Rigid bronchoscopy
  • Tumor debulking using rigid bronchoscopy
  • Stent placement
  • Transbronchial Cryo Lung Biopsy
  • Use of snares for tumor debulking
  • Balloon dilation
  • Application of APC (Argon Plasma Coagulation) and knife for airway stenosis

✅ Thoracic Procedures:

  • Thoracoscopy
  • Indwelling pleural catheter placement
  • Intercostal drainage tube insertion
  • Pigtail catheter insertion
  1. Training in Critical Care Medicine

Fellows will gain in-depth experience in:
🔹 Managing complex cases in ICU and hospital wards
🔹 Advanced ventilatory support and life-saving interventions
🔹 Adhering to international treatment guidelines for critical care patients
🔹 Performing all ICU-related procedures with precision

Specialized Clinics & Multidisciplinary Approach:

MCRD houses dedicated specialty clinics that provide fellows with exposure to a broad spectrum of pulmonary diseases:
🔹 Sarcoid Clinic (Affiliated with WASOG – World Association of Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders)
🔹 Asthma Clinic
🔹 ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease) Clinic
🔹 Training in allergy testing and immunotherapy

Fellows actively participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions, collaborating with pulmonologists, pathologists, radiologists, and rheumatologists to ensure a holistic understanding of complex pulmonary diseases.

Application form for Fellowship in Intervention Pulmonology

General Instruction:

1. Incomplete late received application are liable to be rejected

2. Joining of selected candidate is subject to medical fitness

3. All candidate will be paid salary/stipend by MCRD

4. Decision of the management of MCRD will be final and binding

5. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in intervention.

6. The fellowship is a full-time course candidate will be posted in ward/ RICU patients who require intervention for their illness. Was per requirement along with all

7. Publication of minimum one paper in uny indexed journal, is mandatory during the tenure of Fellowship.

8. Candidate is allowed to take only 12 leaves in an academic year excluding Sundays & national holidays – 5.

9. Candidate will be awarded with Fellowship in intervention pulmonology (FIP) after passing exit examination.
